Designer Linear Drain Tops

Capturing the essence of the environment and steering away from standard and often repetitive designs was key. Clare and her design team took influence from the outdoors and brought it into the inside environment.

Clare decided at an early stage to approach this project from graphical perspective to begin with, rather than an engineer angle which was a refreshing direction.

All designs had to look sleek and sophisticated without jeopardising the functionality on the Aqua-Dec Linear floor former and its drainage. Impey’s in-house testing department checked the drain top designs had enough stainless steel to allow the right amount of water without compromising it aesthetically.

Marrakesh

The intricacy of this design was paramount to achieve the desired look and bringing a certain characteristic to the room.  Marrakesh was inspired by traditional patterns and prints, that you originally stemmed from beautiful stonework such as balustrades which can be seen in the detailing of this design.

Connect

The design behind the ‘Connect’, was to create an intertwined and interesting pattern. Inspired by one of the popular existing drain quadrant tops (Fibre) and adapted the concept to create a non-repetitive design which complements a linear layout.

Morse

The concept for Morse was inspired by architectural design which enhanced the linear drain. The balance of the structure and variation of the patterns complements the natural length of the linear as well as bringing a certain characteristic into a room. 

Echo

Inspired by water falling onto a drain and how it interacts on the surface began the Echo design. The flow of water never falls in the same way, which inspired this organic design. The non-uniform aspect of this design was key to creating the final patterns.
