Choosing the right shower waste pump for your project
Getting the specification right matters more than people realise. A shower waste pump needs to be matched to the flow rate of the shower it’s serving — undersize it, and water backs up; oversize it, and you’ve spent more than you needed to.
Our range covers the two most common scenarios installers come up against. For electric showers, the Whale Instant Match Premium and Bluetooth kits are designed around lower flow rates and quick installation, making them a sensible default for social housing adaptations and refurbishments. For mixer showers, where flow rates are higher, and water temperature is thermostatically controlled, the Impey & Whale TMV2 kit pairs a pump with a TMV2-approved mixer — a requirement for most healthcare and care home settings.
