Wetroom Floor Formers
What is a wet room floor former? Commonly known as Wetroom trays, Wetroom floor formers, act as floorboard replacements with a pre-formed gradient to a square or linear drainage point which allows for the creation of a level access showering space. Wetroom trays are then tanked with a waterproof membrane and tiled or covered in vinyl flooring.
Choosing the right shower former for your project
The right shower former depends on the floor you’re building on, where the drain needs to sit, and how the wetroom will be finished.
For timber and joisted floors, the Aqua-Dec EasyFit is the most widely specified option in the range. It fits between joists and drops in as a direct floorboard replacement, keeping installation to a single trade and reducing the build depth on a first-floor wetroom. For solid concrete or where a slimmer profile is needed, the Aqua-Grade is a low-build board that bonds directly to the substrate. The Aqua-Grade Linear pairs that same low profile with a linear waste position for a cleaner finish along one wall.
The Aqua-Dec Linear 1 through 4 give installers control over drain position, whether that’s flush to a wall, offset centrally, or aligned with a specific tile line. Every former in the range is engineered to work with Impey’s own drainage and waterproofing systems, so gradient, flow rate and joint detail are matched from floor to finish.
